VIP Industries, one of Asia’s leading luggage manufacturers, announced the appointment of Somasundaram Suriyanarayanan as Vice President – Strategic Projects, with effect from November 9, 2023.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “Pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, we wish to inform you that Mr. Somasundaram Suriyanarayanan has been appointed as Vice President – Strategic Projects.”
Somasundaram Suriyanarayanan holds dual degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Technology (Intermediates and Dyes) and a Postgraduate (PG) qualification in Business Management from the National Institute of Labour Education & Management.
With over three decades of experience, Somasundaram bring a wealth of experience from leading organisations including Sandoz / Clariant India Ltd, CavinKare, S.C. Johnson Products Pvt. Ltd, Paras Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Reckitt Benkiser, Jyothy Labs Ltd, and most recently Capital Foods Pvt. Ltd. His achievements encompass, implementation of innovative methodologies such as KAIZEN, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) measurements and Process Automation, the statement said.
His contribution in sustainability initiatives stands out with the successful implementation of energy management solutions, adoption of alternative energy sources and waste reduction measures that significantly lowered energy costs, optimized water usage, and reduced carbon emissions. He also managed complex manufacturing footprints, transforming them into profitable setups through automation and efficient resource allocation, according to the statement.
