WeWork appoints Marissa Shorenstein as Chief Communications Officer

WeWork, the world’s leading space-as-a-service platform, announced that it has named Marissa Shorenstein as Chief Communications Officer, effective March 26, 2020. She will report to CEO Sandeep Mathrani.

In her new role, Shorenstein will lead WeWork’s communications and public affairs functions on a global basis, including external and internal communications, public affairs and social responsibility. 

Prior to this, Shorenstein was working with AT&T, where she most recently served as President, Northern Region, overseeing external and public affairs as well as regulatory and legislative agendas, strategic communications, sponsorship and foundation activities for a significant portion of the U.S.

Marissa holds a B.A. from Harvard University and while there served on the National Press Advance team for the Gore Presidential campaign. She has a J.D. from Fordham University Law School and serves as Board Chair of Girls Who Code, Vice Chair of the Citizens Budget Commission and as a director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.

WeWork recently named former Ernst & Young executive Shyam Gidumal as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer.
