Essar launches multiple initiatives to strengthen its employee relations

Essar has launched its Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that outlines its intent for supporting its employees through hardships, worries and crises in their personal or work lives. The company strives to maintain the well-being of its employees both mentally and emotionally, it said in a statement.

Commenting on the program Ms. Priya Chakravarty, Senior Director – HR at Essar Capital said, “The initiative aims to help our employees and their families to cope with stress, mental illness and any other issues they may face. It aims to create an enabling environment for them, with 24/7 counselling services at their disposal, a safe space where they can express their fears, anxieties, doubts, grief or anything that is on their minds. The pandemic has thrust the importance of mental health into the spotlight and our Employee Assistance Programme will continue to operate well beyond the pandemic.”

The company statement said, “Additionally, the company also launched Essar’s Radio which is a way to help its employees stay connected. From keeping them updated on the latest happenings around the world via news, broadcasting enthralling interviews of industry veterans, to playing good music to soothe their ears, Essar Radio has been an engaging element in the company’s employee engagement drive. The initiative enjoys a listenership of over 15,000, globally.”
