Haryana govt announces relaxation for Industries from April 30

As the second phase of coronavirus lockdown is coming to its end, various state governments have been allowed by the central government to allow the opening of industries and offices for resuming businesses. However, the Ministry of Home Affair has released a set of instruction for such organizations to follow.

Recently, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced certain relaxations for industry in the non-containment zones from April 30.

In his address to the residents of Haryana, the Chief Minister said that industries in 15 districts and non-containment blocks, i.e having less than 10 Covid-positive cases, of the remaining seven districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh, Sonepat, Panipat, and Panchkula have been allowed to operate with 50% workforce by enforcing social distancing.

He further also said that the industries can increase the working hours of labourers to 12 hours provided they are provided payment of double wages.

Additionally, the IT sector would operate with 33% work force, he said.

Recently, the Gurugram administration has also allowed the opening of offices in the city but with stricter restrictions. The Gurugram DM has asked employees coming to the district from neighbouring areas have to find accommodation within the city to reduce cross-border movement. A similar law applies to the residents of Gurugram working in Delhi or nearby areas.

Only government employees are allowed to transit interstate. Also, if someone has to move in certain unavoidable circumstances, they’ll be allowed only if they have a movement pass issues by the Haryana govt. Vehicles carrying essential goods are still being allowed into the state.

Khattar further claimed that the recovery rate of Covid cases in Haryana was over 72% while the fatality rate was less than 1%. With 81 active cases, the number of cases doubled in 21 days as compared to the national average of eight days, he said.
