Gurugram administration restricts cross-border movement after May 1 with additional guidelines

As the second phase of lockdown is nearing an end, companies in Gurugram were hoping for business operations to resume. The government had earlier notified that companies can open office spaces for employees but in a staggered manner and in sync with the government advisories.

But with the rising number of coronavirus cases in India and particularly in Gurugram, the Gurugram district administration has released stricter guidelines for entry and exit from the region.

Gurugram DM Amit Khatri recently announced that the district administration has taken several measures to ensure safety and prevent the transmission of the virus.

The guidelines come into force from 10 am on May 1, 2020.

As per the new restrictions, residents of Gurugram working in Delhi have been asked to make their living arrangements in Delhi and those commuting every day from Delhi to Gurugram for work will have to make their living arrangements in Gurugram only.

The district administration has said that it will allow minimum people to cross the Gurugram-Delhi border. However, government officials will be allowed entry and exit from the city.

Other than these, people who have a ‘Restricted Movement Pass’ authorized by the government of Haryana only, will be allowed to pass.

The administration has also notified that if someone has to travel under unforeseen circumstances, they will have to have the Aarogya Setu app installed for contact tracing and will be subject to thermal screening and symptomatic screening at the borders. Rapid Testing Facility might also be implemented if the case arises.

Here are some additional guidelines announced;

Ambulances, ATM Cash vans, LPG and oil tankers, suppliers of vegetables, groceries, medicines, masks and sanitizers will be allowed to travel.

Transit logistics or carriers of non-essential items will not be allowed to enter or exit from Gurugram.
