India- and US-based firm, Inventus Capital Partners, has announced the final close of its third fund at $51.98 Mn. Inventus Capital raised its first fund of $51 million in 2009 and the second one closed with commitments of $106 million in January 2014, both of which had a focus on US and India.
The fund will be dedicated to India, and its general partners include Samir Kumar, Parag Dhol, and Rutvik Doshi. Inventors invests in areas like consumer Internet, software-as-a-service, Internet of Things, machine learning and fintech.
Over the next 2 to 3 years, the new fund will be investing Rs 5-15 crore in about 15-16 companies. These investments are likely to include funding of new companies as well as follow-on rounds for its existing portfolio companies.
From its earlier fund, they have invested in companies like Policybazaar, Truebil, Healthifyme, PeelWorks and Power2SME. Moreover, third fund has already backed BluArmor Helmets, Little Black Book, Koinearth, Worxogo and Playshifu.
