LINK Mobility acquires Soprano Design to expand globally

LINK Mobility (LINK), a leading provider of Communication Platforms as a Service (CPaaS), announced it has acquired Soprano Design, the global CPaaS player based in Sydney, Australia .

With this proposed acquisition, LINK will achieve a truly global position with a presence in Asia Pacific, the United States and Latin America, the statement said.

Soprano Design offers LINK-like products in its SMS, MMS, Email, Voice, RCS, WhatsApp and SecureIP offerings used by more than 4,000 business customers and government authorities spanning a wide range of industries. Soprano’s services are both private label and white label and offer enterprise-grade self-managed solutions to orchestrate interactions.

“We are excited to announce our first physical expansion outside of Europe. With this acquisition, LINK will become a global CPaaS player with broader market positions, products and organizations. Since the IPO in October last year we have added more than NOK 1 billion in annual revenue and we improved the group’s margins, and while Soprano will add significant growth opportunities, we continue to see short-term opportunities in our highly fragmented market that could further position LINK as a global leader among CPaaS, “he stated Guillaume Van Gaver , CEO of LINK.

With a purchase price of NOK 3.59 billion, the deal perfectly positions LINK as a global CPaaS player, adding an estimated AUD 109 million (NOK 717 million) to 2021 revenue and AUD 27 million (NOK 174 million) for the EBITDA estimate. The transaction is being settled with 95% LINK shares and 5% cash, clearly demonstrating the confidence in LINK and the combined business opportunities for the coming years.

“LINK and Soprano are a wonderful combination for our customers and partners. An extensive and non-overlapping geographic reach, an expanded product suite, a deeper level of knowledge, and a growing team of experienced professionals will ensure CPaaS capability. ever expanding. The entire Soprano team is excited to work with the LINK team and become a stronger, more valuable and meaningful supplier to all of our customers, “said Dr. Richard Favero Ph. D., Founder and President Soprano executive.

The deal is expected to close during the second half of 2021.

LINK is one of Europe’s leading providers of CPaaS and mobile messaging solutions serving business, SME and government customers. LINK offers innovative and scalable solutions that create valuable digital convergence between businesses and customers, governments and citizens, platforms and users.

LINK has 40,000 customer accounts worldwide and exchanges more than 10 billion messages a year.
