EY India acquires IIT alumni backed AI startup

EY India, a provider of assurance, tax, strategy, transaction and consulting services has acquired IIT alumni backed AI startup Spotmentor Technologies. 

With the acquisition, the professional services firm seeks to add in its product offerings, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to help organizations. 

The Gurugram-based software platform uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) based technology. 

Co-founded by Deepak Singh, Arpit Goyal, Shekhar Suman and Yash Pl Mittal in 2016, It uses insights derived from unstructured data on jobs, people performance, and capabilities to identify skill gaps for each employee, after which it searches for the possible learning content on the web create suitable learning plans, and then calculates the effectiveness of learning programs and their business impact – all through its 3 patent-pending algorithms.
