Online gaming platform Dangal Games raises $1 mn in Series A round

Dangal Games, a Kolkata-based online skill-based gaming platform, announced it has raised a $1 million Series A funding round from a strategic investor.

The company said it intends to use the funds to expand its business to the newer products with a consolidated aim to become a leading player in the skill-based online gaming sector.

Commenting on the development, Varun Mahna, Founder & CEO, Dangal Games, “The fund would be used to diversify the product portfolio and build the tech capabilities of the business. The online gaming industry in India is surging like never before. After the pandemic, our whole platform endured an inclining power shot in acquisition and user-time spent. We also want to utilise the funds to grow the gaming ecosystem in the country and enable more gaming tech start-ups with investments.”

Dangal Games currently offers poker and rummy platforms – Poker Dangal and Rummy Dangal.

Founded by Varun Mahna, Varun Puri, Shashwat Jain, Karan Gandhi and Manan Sobti, Poker Dangal plans to add fantasy games to their portfolio ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

As per Mahna, the focus on responsible gaming is “unmatched” at Dangal Games and keeping the users first has always been the top-most priority.
