Ratan Tata invests in Kolkata-based Healthcare startup iKure

Indian industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata has invested in the healthcare firm- iKure, an undisclosed amount.

The social enterprise that provides primary healthcare and prevention services plans to use the funds raised to expand its operations across India and globally.

Speaking on the investment, Sujay Santra, Founder and CEO, said – “We are extremely pleased to have been considered by Ratan Tata for an investment. This is a huge honour and encouragement for us.”

Founded in 2010, the health-tech startup has served the healthcare need of 1.1 million people across 7 states in India and aims to provide its healthcare services to more than ten million people in the next five years.

With services spread across 3000 villages in seven states, the startup has prominent partners like WHO, World Economic Forum and UNDP.  It addresses the primary healthcare, wellness and prevention needs of people across rural, semi-urban and urban areas.
