Space robot startup GITAI raises a total of 1.8 billion yen

GITAI Japan Co., Ltd., which develops general-purpose work robots for space, has completed a total of 1.8 billion yen in financing as a series B round to accelerate and expand business and technological development.

In this round, the companies and funds that participated, through a third-party allotment, are – Space Frontier Investment Limited Partnership, DCI Venture Growth Support Investment Limited Partnership, Daiichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd, and EP-GB Investment Limited Partnership.

The funds obtained from this procurement will be used mainly for the following three points – Development costs and labor costs for spacewalk measures, demonstration experiment cost for on-orbit outboard technology demonstration scheduled to be carried out in 2023, personnel costs for entering the US market.

GITAI is a space robot startup that aims to provide cheap and safe working means to space.
