Zaara Biotech raises $10 million investment

A Kerala based start-up, Zaara Biotech, will receive funding for their project titled ‘Algae-Seaweed Technology’ by TCN International Commerce LLC based in UAE. The student start-up will raise $10 million or Rs 72.49 crore for production, research and development, distribution and marketing.

Zaara biotech is a Biotechnology Start-up company established in 2016 focusing on Research in Energy and Food crisis using Micro-Algae.In collaboration with Indian Council of Agriculture and Research-CIFT Cochin, Govt. of India, The company is manufacturing Algal- Seaweed Food products and other FMCG products.

The startup states that its vision is “to ensure the availability of healthy and balanced diets to the global population while eradicating global hunger and malnutrition through the manufacture of healthy and enviornmental friendly FMCG products based on natural ingredients.”
