Picsart plans to hire 100 new employees in India

Creative platform Picsart announced its plans to expand and actively hire in India and other parts of the world as the company is accelerating hiring by 40%.

This comes after the San Francisco-based company recently raised $130 million in funding. The round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, valued the company at $1 billion. Alongside this development, Picsart plans to hire 100 new employees in India in product development, engineering and marketing in the next one year.

According to Business Insider, Tammy Nam, COO, Picsart said that the company is expecting to grow to a team of 1200 employees in the next one year. Picsart has expanded and opened 12 global offices worldwide in the last one year. Barcelona, Spain, Romania, USA are some of the key locations for the global offices. The company recently opened its office in Bangalore and Gurugram in India.

Picsart recognizes India as one of the most crucial markets as many millennial professional creators are now using the editing app for content creation. Picsart aims to invest on localisation of the product for the regional users to gain a better experience. The app is already available in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, and Marathi, the statement said.

The latest unicorn will also focus on investing in artificial intelligence to develop new tools and features for users and will also focus on product flow. Picsart saw a 45% increase in the number of users in India in the last one year and the users are mainly Gen Z and professional content creators, the company said.
