UFlex (previously known as Flex Industries), a flexible packaging company based in India, is planning to add over 400 new members to its team over next six months. The hiring plan will help the company augment manpower across their global operations and manufacturing facilities and is aimed at supporting the company’s expansion plans.

President-HR of UFlex, Chandan Chattaraj in a statement made to Economic Times, said – “One of the crucial factors to revive the economy globally is to generate more job opportunities. When most companies are either downsizing or halting their recruitment plans due to pandemic’s aftermath, UFlex hasn’t let the unforeseen situation derail its global expansion plan, and has gone on to hire more people“.

Mr Chattaraj also emphasized on the importance of strengthening the workforce and machinery to meet the changing demands of the business in the pandemic era. The company has already hired more than 120 new employees in the current fiscal year. With an employee and workplace safety focus, the company has also undertaken various measures and is also ensuring adherence to desired social distancing norms, to prevent any spread of the Covid-19 infection.

As against the slump seen in several industries, the packaging industry seems to have got some boost during the pandemic. This may be considering the relevance of flexible packaging and the possible hazards attached to non-packaged products. UFlex being one of the leading players at a global level appears to have done really well and has posted a stellar performance for quarter ending June 2020 ( Q1 2020-21). The company has seen its consolidated Net Profit up by 116.7% YoY to INR 196.5 crore and consolidated EBITDA up by 51.9% YoY to INR 421.1 crore for Q1 FY2020.

Presently the company serves clients across over 140 countries across the globe, and has manufacturing facilities in India, UAE, Mexico, Poland, Egypt and USA. The company recently completed construction of its new facilities in Russia and Poland and is also setting up new plants in Nigeria and Hungary. The company provides its packaging and material solution to various companies such as Heinz, Godrej, Henkel, ITC, Pepsi, Nestle, Unilever Group and Tata Chemicals.
