Over 3,000 drivers trained through structured EV-centric curriculum across key cities

As India’s electric mobility sector expands, the need for a skilled and future-ready workforce is becoming more pressing. NueGo, the intercity electric bus service operated by GreenCell Mobility, is addressing this challenge through its EV-Centric Driver Training Program—designed to prepare Coach Captains and onboard staff for the nuances of operating electric buses.

The company has trained more than 3,000 Coach Captains and 400 Coach Hosts so far, positioning the initiative as a model for workforce readiness in the electric transport sector.

The week-long onboarding program blends classroom teaching, simulator sessions, and real-route driving practice. The curriculum spans 11 modules, covering technical, safety, and customer engagement aspects. It includes defensive driving, EV-specific protocols such as regenerative braking and battery management, as well as customer service and vehicle familiarization.

Training is conducted at NueGo’s facilities across Delhi, Indore, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. To maintain operational excellence, drivers also undergo mandatory refresher training every three months, with a focus on practical skills such as blind spot awareness and parallel parking.

By investing in a structured and continuous training ecosystem, NueGo is placing skilled talent at the heart of its electric mobility strategy—a move that could serve as a blueprint for the wider EV industry.
