Sai Life Sciences opens new R&T center in Hyderabad

Sai Life Sciences, one of the fastest growing contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) companies in  India, announced the inauguration of its new research and technology (R&T) center in Hyderabad , India. 

KT Rama Rao , Minister of Industry, Trade and IT of the Government of Telangana, inaugurated the facility in the presence of other guests of honor, the Company said in its press note.

On the occasion, KT Rama Rao said, “I am very pleased that Telangana has been selected by Sai Life Sciences to establish the new research and development center. The life sciences are one of the key priority areas for the Telangana government. Hyderabad serves more than 1000 global innovators in their vision of creating innovative and affordable medicines for the world. I sincerely congratulate the entire team at Sai Life Sciences, not only for the new research and technology center, but also for their work in developing and manufacturing new life-saving medicines “.

The new R&T facility, built with the aim of meeting the best global benchmarks in laboratory infrastructure, has several unique aspects, such as: intelligent and ergonomic laboratory design to improve safety and productivity, advanced automation for seamless data collection during process development, a lean and 5S approach to increase productivity and collaborative workspaces to promote innovation. 

Speaking of the announcement, Krishna Kanumuri , CEO & Managing Director of Sai Life Sciences said, “Our philosophy in building this new facility has been to go beyond what is the norm in India and create what our global innovation partners create from their internal ones Expect resources “. According to the Company’s press statement, the new 7,700 square foot facility houses state-of-the-art research facilities and advanced technology platforms that expand the company’s capacity to deliver superior scientific solutions to its pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers worldwide. The facility has 24 chemistry laboratories with 250 hoods, analysis laboratories, a fully equipped technology suite and a special laboratory for process safety.

Sai Life Sciences embarked on a process of organizational transformation in 2019 and reinvented itself as a new generation global CDMO. As part of this initiative, known as Sai Nxt , the company is investing over $ 150 million to expand and modernize its R&D and manufacturing facilities, attract world-class global scientists and leaders who are automation and to strengthen data systems and, above all, to raise the bar for security, quality and customer orientation.
