ICICI Bank Limited, the Indian multinational banking, and financial services company headquartered in Mumbai, today announced that the firm received the approval of RBI for the appointment of Sandeep Bakshi as Managing Director and CEO of the bank for three years.
This appointment came when ICICI accepted the early retirement plea of Chanda Kochhar, ICICI Bank’s former MD and CEO, who was facing inquiry over the charges of nepotism and conflict of interest.
Chanda Kochhar left the firm on October 4th, 2018, six months before her current tenure was to end.
“We wish to inform you that RBI vide its letter no DBR.Appt.No.3065/08.88.001/2018-19 dated October 15, 2018 has approved the appointment of Mr. Sandeep Bakhshi as Managing Director & CEO of the Bank for a period of three years with effect from October 15, 2018.” ICICI Bank said in a BSE filing.
Sandeep started his career with ICICI in 1986, he is a Mechanical Engineer from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
