Thrilled to get a job offer without an interview or an assessment ..

Some Guidelines  for fresher’s, frontline level Job Seekers.

Got a job offer from a top brand without an interview call, its most likely a Fake Offer and you are on way of getting duped.

No good company and no sane hiring manager is going to issue you an offer letter &  an appointment letter without interviewing you, and well most of the “genuine” interviews will normally take place at the company’s office / campus. In most of the cases there may be multiple round of interviews before you get to the offer stage. For bulk hiring’s in case of BPO’s or retail frontline, at times prelim interview’s get conducted at a consultants office but still you need to attend a final round at the company’s office before final selection.

Consultant or hiring manager asking for money, its again most likely a Fake Offer and you are on way of getting duped.

Normally companies, and hiring managers will connect with you , speak to you on phone before even calling you for an interview. At times, Recruitment Consultants do the job of fixing the interviews , and allocating schedules. And of course, they wont ask you for any money at any stage. If some one is asking for money and you fall in the trap most probably you are going to be duped. There are lots of fake offer e-mails and interview call letters floating around that ask you to pay up some amount , so as to ensure your seat , travel tickets etc. etc. Don’t fall for these.

You need to understand the hiring process, there are no short cuts.

If you are applying for job in a company you need to very well understand the various stages, steps involved in their application process. The good news is that now, most companies clearly mention the application criteria, process etc. on their web sites. This is true especially for the Top IT companies (Infosys, TCS, Wipro etc.). In any way, don’t be so sure that some one can help you jump the fence, with you not even participating in the process.

Travel expense re-imbursement.

Most companies avoid interviewing out station candidates for their entry level positions, and they don’t pay or reimburse the travel expenses.  So if you have to attend an interview in some other city , do check from the consultant, recruitment guys if you would be reimbursed etc., so as you can plan your travel accordingly. For managerial and senior level positions normally companies reimburse you for your travel expenses (incurred to attend the interview) or send you the necessary tickets etc., if there is a provision for the same in their HR policy.  This is generally applicable for outstation candidates.  For local candidates, don’t expect to be paid the cab fare, unless it has been specified by the company or the consultant.
