Since our childhood, in our school and at our homes, most of us get to hear a number of stories, examples etc. to bring home one point – “nothing is impossible”, and “you can do every thing”.
Normally we never get to hear, the next part of the statement – “..if you so desire”, or “if you so desire & if you develop yourself accordingly.”.
Talking about achievements and fulfilling our ambitions, we need to understand our inspirations, desires & motivations. We also need to to appreciate and understand our potential, strengths and limitations.
While it’s right to say – “nothing is impossible” and “you can do every thing”, it makes sense to realize that not every one is interested in doing or or achieving every thing. Every person is different and every person has their own motivational triggers , their own wants and their own definitions of success or happiness.
Once you are clear on what you want, you have to align your expectations keeping in view your capability, motivation, potential and your limitations. If you are sure of your wants and desires, you should also be aware of the need to upgrade yourself and develop yourself. If you can’t upgrade yourself to align with your desires, realign the desires. Some where there needs to be adjustment keeping in view your desires and your limitations. One needs to understand oneself, and that brings happiness and a feeling of accomplishment.
A bird can fly and looks beautiful in the sky. It needs to fly. Don’t ask or motivate the bird to swim or run. Let it fly. Let it fly better and higher.
