IndusInd bank has been on look out for a replacement for its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Romesh Sobti, who is due to retire in March 2020.
The bank has finalized a potential candidate for the position. In accordance with the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee , the Board of Directors of the Bank has finalised a potential candidate for the position of MD & CEO during its meeting on 30th October.
As required by RBI norms, IndusInd bank has submitted an application to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), seeking approval for the appointment of the new MD & CEO of the Bank. The announcement would be made post the RBI approval.
There has been reports, IndusInd Bank is likely to announce the appointment of Sumant Kathpalia, presently Head of Consumer Banking at the bank as a successor to Ramesh Sobti. Sumant Kathpalia, has been with the bank since 2008. He is a chartered accountant by qualification, and has previously been with Citibank, Bank of America, and ABN Amro.
