3i, a leading international investor focused on mid-market private equity, infrastructure and debt management across Europe, Asia and the Americas has appointed Samir Palod as Managing Director, India, with immediate effect. Samir joined 3i’s Mumbai office in 2005 and is a Partner in the company’s Infrastructure business. During his time with 3i, Samir has worked on a number of investments both in private equity and infrastructure.
Prior to joining 3i, Samir worked at Citigroup and Arthur Andersen. Samir will report to Cressida Hogg, Managing Partner Infrastructure, who is based in London. Samir will lead 3i’s Indian team of investment professionals, based in Mumbai and Delhi, who are focused on managing the infrastructure investments in 3i’s India Infrastructure Fund and its private equity portfolio.
At the same time, Anil Ahuja, Managing Partner, and Girish Baliga, Partner, will be leaving 3i to pursue other opportunities, with 3i retaining their expertise through a part-time consultancy agreement.
