Airtel global brand head Bharat Bambawale quits.

Bharat Bambawale, the company’s brand head is another amongst the recent spate of exits from Bharti Airtel. He has been with the company since August 2011, and was designated as Director, Global Brand for Bharti Airtel Limited. Previously he was with JWT – London, where he was Globlal Team Leader for Unilever Hair Care product category.

Bharat is credited with championing the Airtel’s brand initiative at repositioning the brand for a better connect with the young crowd. Amongst the key campaigns that gathered positive response and set off well with the young crowd are – “Har Friend Zaroori Hain Yaar (Aug 2011) and Jo Mera Hain Wo Tera Hain (Aug 2012). The – “Jo Mera Hain Wo Tera Hain” campaign was rolled into Africa as Nigerian Half Dollar campaign.

Bharat’s exit may be related to Airtel’s restructuring which has led to a series of top level churn.
