Arbor Networks Inc., a leading provider of network security and management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, today announced the appointment of Jeff Buhl as the company’s Vice President of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. In this role, Buhl will be responsible for driving Arbor’s sales and channel initiatives in the APAC region as the company continues its expansion there.
Buhl brings seventeen years of international business leadership experience to his new role at Arbor. Previous experience includes multi-channel management, enterprise software and solution sales, telecommunications operator business development and consulting experience with the last eight years spent in Asia Pacific, specifically. Buhl previously held senior leadership roles at NQ Mobile, Good Technology and BEA Systems.
Arbor Networks has been active in APAC nearly a decade and has gained significant traction with some of the region’s network operators, including Tata Communications, SK Telecom, China Telecom, Hunan Mobile, KDDI and StarHub among others.
“Jeff brings the right mix of service provider and channel expertise that will allow him to make an immediate impact for Arbor in Asia,” said Arbor Networks President Colin Doherty. “DDoS and advanced threats are not a regional problem, but a global one. Arbor’s deployment in global service provider networks, combined with our enterprise solutions, makes for a very powerful combination.
Jeff’s extensive business development and sales experience will help Arbor build on its success to date and further penetrate the market. We’re excited to have a leader of Jeff’s caliber on board.”
“This is an exciting time to be joining Arbor as the company has made great strides in APAC, especially among major wireline and mobile operators,” said Jeff Buhl. “I’m really looking forward to helping the company continue to expand its APAC footprint as Arbor continues to help network operators in the region protect their infrastructure from DDoS and other advanced threats targeting them today.”
