CDPQ appoints David Morley as Director General and Regional Head, Europe

The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), a global institutional investor, has announced the appointment of David Morley as new MD and Regional Head for Europe.

In his new role, Morley will head the London office and work closely with the various asset class managers in the region, while serving on the management committee of CDPQ global. David will play a key role within CDPQ Global’s management team and help identify new investment opportunities, develop partnerships and advise CDPQ’s portfolio companies.

An influential leader and distinguished lawyer, Morley has spent more than three decades transforming Allen & Overy from a London-based firm with satellite offices internationally into a truly global organization with 45 offices in 31 countries. Most recently, Morley was president of a private placement and litigation finance firm, and created his own strategy and leadership consulting firm.

David joined Allen & Overy (A&O) in 1980. He became a partner in 1988 and served as Global Head of Banking for five years. In 2003, he won the first of three successive A&O Global Managing Partner (CEO) elections before being elected Global Senior Partner (Chairman of the Board) in 2008, a position he held until in 2016.
