KIOCL Limited, a government owned iron ore producer, announced the appointment of Devidatta Satapathy, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Steel, as Government Nominee Director, with immediate effect.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “we hereby inform that Ministry of Steel vide its Order No. S-14011/1/2022-BLA dated 27.04.2022 intimated the appointment of Shri Devidatta Satapathy, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Steel as Government Nominee Director on the Board of KIOCL Limited with immediate effect and until further orders.”
Devidatta Satapathy belongs to the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME-2009). He is presently holding the post of Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Prior to joining Government of India in 2009, he was serving ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) as an Executive Engineer.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCE BURLA of Sambalpur University and Master’s degree from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan. He has worked in varied areas including Policy formulation, General administration, Railway transportation, Rolling stock operation and maintenance, Energy management, Petroleum extraction and production. Satapathy was awarded GM’s Medal for his exemplary contribution to Indian Railways in 2015.
Satapathy did his Master’s research in TRIP Steel (Transformation Induced Plasticity) and (FSW) Friction stir welding of Steel in Nagaoka University of Technology under the MEXT scholarship being nominated by Ministry of Railways, Govt of India as a part of its knowledge sharing programme with Govt of Japan.
Satapathy brings with him 20 (Twenty) years of experience in intricacies of Govt as well as Public sector working, a statement said.
