Extra Space Storage Inc. announced the appointment of Samrat Sondhi as company’s new Chief Marketing Officer. Sondhi will replace James Overturf. Overturf has spent 21 years in various roles with Extra Space Storage and is a highly respected member of the Company’s executive team. Upon retirement, Overturf will devote significant attention to family and philanthropic endeavors.
Prior to this, Samrat Sondhi was the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. Sondhi has been a member of the Company’s executive team since January 1, 2014. Prior to that, Sondhi served on the Company’s senior management team for eight years, operating in various roles including Senior Vice President Revenue Management, playing a key role in the evolution of the Company’s pricing strategy.
Sondhi holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s in Electronics from Pune University, India.

The board of directors has selected Matthew (Matt) Herrington, the Company’s current Senior Vice President Operations, to succeed Sondhi as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.
