Group CIO of CK Birla group, Puneesh Lamba, has left the organization and has joined Shahi Exports as Chief Technology Officer for all businesses in the Group, according to ET report. Lamba will directly report to the Board of Directors.
Shahi Exports was established in 1974 by Sarla Ahuja, who began her journey as a sewing machine operator in a factory. The India’s largest apparel manufacturer and exporter is a family-owned company with several business units. The group operates 65 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities across 9 Indian states with a diverse workforce of over 100,000 people.
“In this new role, I will be responsible for the company’s digital transformation and technology driven innovation for business growth. Other than managing technology for organizational growth, I will be focusing on leveraging digital capabilities and new age technologies to enhance productivity and experience for customers and employees. I am extremely excited about the company’s culture and business vision,” Lamba said.
Prior to this role, Lamba had a stint of 5 years at CK Birla Group as their Group CIO where he has led digital and IT transformation strategy for all group companies. Prior to that, Lamba served in leadership roles at BILT, Punj Lloyd and Genpact.
Lamba holds a B.E. degree from CR State College of Engineering, and a business management and leadership from global institutions such as Harvard Business School, IIM-A, Kellogg School of Management and Dale Carnegie.
Lamba is a seasoned IT professional with over 27 years of experience in IT management, deploying tech strategies for business growth and innovation with digital transformation.
