Michelin Group has named Gaganjot Singh as the President, Michelin Africa, India and Middle East Region.
Based in Pune, Singh succeeds Marc Pasquet, who has been called to other functions in the Michelin Group, the company said in a release.
Across his 10-year tenure with Michelin, Singh has held various leadership roles in finance, sales, and other commercial functions across Asia, Africa and Europe.
Most recently, Singh served as Global Business Model Leader – Large Fleets within the Long Distance Transportation Business Line. Prior to that, Singh was the managing director of South Africa Customs Union (SACU), Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique.
In 2012, Singh joined Michelin Group in India as chief financial officer of the company.
Earlier, Singh had a stint with major companies like GlaxoSmithKline and Pepsico in various functions of Finance, Purchase, Logistics, and in Saint-Gobain Construction Products in India as CFO.
Headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Michelin is the leading tyre company having presence in more than 170 countries. It has 111,200 employees and operates 67 production plants in 17 different countries.
