Gurugram-based e-learning platform SplashLearn raises $18 mn in Series C funding

SplashLearn, the game-based learning company, has raised $18 million in Series C funding led by Owl Ventures and existing investor Accel, according to ET report.

Founded in 2010 by four IIT-Kharagpur alumni, SplashLearn offers Math for Pre-K to Class 5 and reading for Pre-K to Class 2. It adapts to each child’s learning ability and helps them master skills at their own pace, the company said. 

SplashLearn said it has 40 million registered users from over 150 countries. The startup is backed by Accel Partners and many other prominent investors. SplashLearn has bagged many prestigious edtech awards such as the Stevie Award for the best edtech product,

The company employs 230 people at its Gurugram headquarters and plans to double the team this year. 

The company plans to utilise the funds to scale up its recently launched tutoring vertical and further strengthen the research and development department. 

“Our goal is to make the largest learning global consumer business out of India,” Arpit Jain, co-founder and CEO. 

Commenting on the fundraise, Amit A Patel, managing director, Owl Ventures said, “SplashLearn is well poised to bring about a distinct change in the digital learning space with its unique blend of scientifically designed curriculum and its pedagogical methods with global appeal.”
