Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited, a speciality chemical conglomerate in India, announced the appointment of Rita Bhattacharya as an Additional Director in the capacity of Independent Director on the company’s Board, with effect from August 11, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “the Board of Directors at its meeting held today i.e. on 11 August 2022 inter-alia has appointed Ms. Rita Bhattacharya (DIN: 03157199), as an Additional Director in the capacity of Independent Director of the Company w. e. f. 11 August 2022 and who shall hold the office as such up to the conclusion of the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) of the Company.”
Rita Bhattacharya, aged about 68 years, is an Honors Graduate in Chemistry and is fluent in several languages. She has rich pool of experience in Life Insurance industry having worked in the office of the Governing Body of Insurance Council as Secretary General and also in various departments of the corporation such as Servicing, Actuarial, Personnel, Information Technology (IT) and Corporate Communications, the statement said.
She joined LIC in the year 1981 and finally superannuated in May 2014 as Executive Director (HR -DOD). She was honored at International Association of Advertisers Leadership Awards 2012, as International Marketer of the Year (Insurance Sector), selected through a Nielsen Survey, audited by Ernst & Young. She was appointed as Nominee Director of LIC of India from 22.04.2014 to 08.01.2020 in the Company.
