Housing & Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) announced that it has named Kuldip Narayan as Chairman & Managing Director of the company.
Narayan is already serving as Part-time Official Director on the Board of HUDCO since 2nd November, 2021, a statement said.
Kuldip Narayan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of 2005 batch Bihar Cadre and did his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
Narayan is looking after its flagship programme of Housing for All / Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Urban) since October 14, 2021. He is also serving as Nominee Official Director in National Housing Bank (NHB), NCRTC. He is associated with HUDCO since 224 November, 2021 as part-time Official Director and has been assigned additional charge of the post of Chairman & Managing Director of HUDCO by MoHUA w.e.f. 27 March, 2023.
In Government of India, Narayan has served as Private Secretary to Hon’ble Minister of State Health and Family Welfare and Hon’ble Minister of State, Environment, Forest & Climate Change before taking over charge of JS & MD, Housing for All. Earlier, he has served as the District Magistrate of Gopalganj, Chhapra, Munger and Madhubani districts in Bihar. Shri Narayan also held the charge of Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Corporation, Managing Director of Bihar State Milk Co-Operative Federation Ltd. (COMFED, Managing Director of Bihar State Water Board, Patna Municipal Commissioner and Director, Panchayati Raj Department, in Bihar before coming to Central Deputation in 2019.
He has been conferred Satyendra Dubey Memorial Award by IIT Kanpur in 2015 for his efforts to promote probity and transparency in public service and exemplary dedication in maintaining the highest professional integrity in upholding human values.
