Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) announced the appointment of Sunil Kumar as Government Nominee Director on the company’s Board of Directors, with effect from December 28, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “it is hereby informed that in terms of MOP&NG’s letter ref. no. CA-31032/1/2021-PNG (37493) dated 27 December 2022, Shri Sunil Kumar (DIN-08467559) has been appointed on the Board of IndianOil as Government Nominee Director with effect from 28 December 2022.”
Sunil Kumar is an IRAS of 1995 batch. He is presently posted as Joint Secretary (E&BR) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG). Sunil Kumar is a Bachelor of Technology (Petroleum Energy) from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad.
Kumar has also done Financial Management from NIFM, Faridabad; Masters in Business Administration from BI, School of Management, Oslo, Norway; Executive European MBA from ESCP-EAP, Paris, France; Masters Diploma in Public Administration from IIPA, New Delhi; and Logistic Simulation and Planning from Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China.
As Joint Secretary (E&BR), MoP&NG, Kumar he is looking after matters related to Refineries; Auto Fuel Policy; Petrochemicals; Import / export of crude oil and other petroleum products; Bio Fuels; Renewable Energy and Conservation; Integrated Energy Policy; Climatic Change & National Clean Energy Policy; etc.
Before joining MoP&NG, he worked in various capacity with the Indian Railways including Director Finance Expenditure in Railway Board and Chief Project Manager of Accounting Reform Project of Indian Railways.
Sunil Kumar is also a Government Nominee Director on the Board of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Engineers India Limited.
