Mahindra & Mahindra Group’s Chief Marketing Officer, Vivek Nayer recently announced on Twitter that he is stepping down from his office after a 15-year tenure with the company.
Announcing his decision to step down from the position, he tweeted, “When a journey begins, it also has to end one day! After almost 15 years, I bid adieu to the Mahindra Group today. It has been such a fantastic ride — some great experiences, huge learnings, several awesome memories, and so many great friends made.”
There is not yet any confirmation about Nayer’s next adventures or his replacement at the Mahindra Group.
In another post, Nayer said that he wished to spend more time with his family (post the lockdown), especially with his mother who has been keeping unwell.
He said, “The immediate plan after the lockdown lifts is to spend a few months with my mother in Delhi as she has been very ill recently. If there is one learning from the recent crisis, it is to prioritise things well. After that who knows where the next journey will take me.”
An alumnus of the University of Mumbai and Delhi University, Nayer started his career in 1987 with Voltas as Area Sales Manager.
After being associated with Voltas for five years, he moved on to Reckitt and Colman. He worked wit them for nearly seven years as Marketing Manager and South Asia Category Leader (Personal Care and Antiseptics).
Prior to joining Mahindra, he had worked with Reckitt Benckiser PLC, UK, for more than four years as Global Category Marketing Manager (Furniture and Floor Clear).
Nayer had joined the company in August 2005 as Sr. Vice-President, Marketing and in 2012, was promoted as the CMO of the Automotive Division.
