Monsanto India, has announced the appointment of Gyanendra Shukla as the companies new Managing Director effective March 1, 2013.
Gyandendra, has been with Monsanto since 1996 and has handled various roles in India and Asia Pacific over this period. He has been Director – Branded Business & Corporate Affairs since August 2012, and in his earlier roles with Monsanto, he has been the Country Director for Indonesia, Director Technology Development for Asia Pacific.
Prior to Monsanto, he has worked with – Hoechst in herbicides development & with Ciba-Geigy as a technical person in agriculture division working on numerous crops like Rice, Soybean, Apple, Mango, Vegetables and Wheat for entire range of pesticides.
Gyandendra, is replacing Amitabh Jaipuria, who is stepping down to pursue interests outside the business. He is a Ph.D, Quantitative Genetics from Kanpur university.
