Procter & Gamble has appointed Freddy Bharucha to be the company’s first President of North America Personal Care & Beauty Operations.
P&G Beauty’s decision to create this new position stems from Freddy Bharucha’s proven track record of driving brand, business, and organisational growth, with a focus on tapping into emerging synergies across the fast-paced North American beauty market, while maintaining the independent operation of distinct categories, as per the statement.
A 21-year veteran of P&G, Bharucha has lived and worked across a range of global markets including Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, India-Middle East Africa, Greater China and Latin America. He has held leadership positions spanning multiple categories at P&G, including beauty, health, fabric and home care.
Born in Mumbai, Bharucha is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta and Mumbai University.
With this, Bharucha becomes the fifth Indian after Bala Purushothaman (CHRO) Shailesh Jejurikar (COO), Sundar Raman (CEO, Fabric & Home Care), and Kirti Singh (Chief Analytics & Insights Officer) to join the global leadership of the Company in recent years.
