REC Limited, (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) is a Navratna company under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, announced it has named Ravinder Singh Dhillon as Chairman and Managing Director of the company, with effect from May 10, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “In terms of Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, it is informed that consequent upon the elevation of Shri S.K.G Rahate to the post of Secretary to the Government of India, the Ministry of Power, Government of lndia vide Order dated May 10, 2022 has communicated that Shri Ravinder Singh Dhillon (DIN 00278074), Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) will look after the work of CMD, REC Limited w.e.f. May 10, 2022, in addition to his current responsibilities, for a period of three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
Ravinder Singh Dhillon, 58 years, has assumed the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), REC with effect from May 10, 2022. He is serving as the CMD of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) where he is spearheading the entire operations of PFC and also playing a critical role in implementation of key power sector initiatives of Government of India. He has over 36 years of varied experience spread across the entire value chain of power sector. His diverse work experience covers 3 years in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited designing power generating equipment, 6 years in Central Electricity Authority with macro-level planning of power systems and 27 years in PFC, playing a key role in project appraisal, financial modeling, project monitoring & stressed asset resolution.
Prior to being appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of PFC, Dhillon held the post of Director (Projects), where he was responsible for business growth & asset quality. Under his leadership, PFC increased its focus on Renewable Energy business and refinancing of commissioned assets. He has also spearheaded PFC’s business diversification efforts both by cross-border funding and expanding business into new market segments.
Dhillon holds B.E. (Electrical) degree from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology and M. Tech. in Power Systems from lIT, Delhi.
