REC Limited announced the appointment of S K G Rahate as Chairman and Managing Director of the company, effective February 22, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “In terms of Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, it is informed that Ministry of Power, Government ofIndia vide Order dated February 22, 2022 has communicated that Shri S KG Rahate, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power will look after the work of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), REC w.e.f. February 22, 2022 (FIN), in addition to his current responsibilities, for a period of three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Accordingly, Shri Rahate has assumed additional responsibility of the post ofCMD, REC with effect from February 22, 2022.”
S K G Rahate is an IAS officer posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power, Government of India and is looking after the Hydro & Distribution sector in the Ministry besides other works. Rahate is an engineering graduate, BE (Instrumentation & Control) from College of Engineering, Pune and has a varied experience in various capacities spanning 31 years in the State and Central Government in different sectors including infrastructure and regulatory, the statement said.
