It is reported that Shailesh Rao, Managing Director – Media & Platforms for Google APAC (Asia-Pacific Operations), has quit and is expected to join Twitter ad its Vice President for International Operations.
In 2007, Shailesh was appointed as Managing Director, Sales and Operations for Google India. Based in New Delhi, Shailesh role included Google’s domestic business and strategic partnerships in India.
Shailesh has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania with Honors, a BS from the Wharton School with a concentration in finance, and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management in 1999 and eventually joined Google in 2005.
Twitter, the micro-blogging site has been looking at growing its operations in the markets outside the US, and this appointment is perceived as one of the steps to support the expansion plans.
