Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited announced it has appointed Shalini Kamath as Independent Director to the company’s board, effective April 1, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “we would like to intimate about the Resolutions passed by Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on 14th March, 2022 has approved the appointment of Ms. Shalini Kamath as an Independent Director.”
Kamath is a Management Graduate from Edinburgh Business School, UK. During her career she has worked with leading companies like Chevron Texaco, Star Group and KPMG. She has experience of working in HR, Marketing, Business Development and General Administration domains. Currently, she runs her own consultancy by the name of SK Associates and does CEO & Leadership Coaching. She also works in the area of Leadership Development and Diversity initiatives across organizations.
Kamath was conferred with ‘Iconic Woman Creating a Better World for All’ by Women Economic Forum in 2017. She was also awarded as Women Entrepreneurship Award in the field of Management by Bharat Nirman in 2017 and she was awarded Women Super Achiever Award by India Human Capital in 2011.
Johnson Controls–Hitachi Air Conditioning was established on October 1st, 2015 as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (now Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) and Johnson Controls, Inc. Johnson Controls acquired a 60% stake of the carved-out business and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of this venture.
