Subhash Kumar, the finance chief at ONGC, has taken additional charge of the Chairman and managing director at the company, according to ET Bureau report.
Kumar replaces Shashi Shanker who retired from the role. Kumar, a cost accountant by training, has taken up various roles in the oil and gas industry in the last 36 years.
During his stint with ONGC Videsh, the overseas arm of the state-run explorer, he played a key role in the evaluation and acquisition of many overseas assets, the company said in a statement.
He also served as finance chief at Petronet LNG in 2017.
