Sunil A. D’Souza will take over as Managing Director and CEO of Tata Consumer Products Limited ( formerly Tata Global Beverages Limited) effective April 4, 2020. The company had announced his appointment to the role in December 2019. Sunil has earlier worked with Whirlpool, and prior to that he was with Pepsico.
Sunil, an engineering graduate from the University of Madras, holds a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He had started his career with Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd. in 1993, and has over 26 years of rich and varied experience in the consumer goods industry, as well as in-depth understanding of the foods and beverages categories.
Ajoy Kumar Misra, a Tata Group veteran with over three decades at the group had taken over as head for the business in April 2014. He was reappointed last year till 31st March 2020.
Earlier in February 2020, Tata Global Beverages Ltd had been renamed as Tata Consumer Products Ltd, to support and fuel the FMCG ambitions of the Tata Group. The formation of Tata Consumer Products Ltd, was an outcome of a scheme of arrangement between Tata Global Beverages Limited (TGBL) and Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL), regarding the consumer products business of TCL.
