Telecom Italia’s CEO & Executive Chairman Franco Bernabe resigned today following loss of support from his core shareholders. As per market sources his exit is seen as a result of some differences with the core shareholders – Telefonica , Intesa , Generali and Mediobanca. It is said that Bernabe had opposed a deal which had earlier been agreed upon by these share holders. These shareholders had earlier agreed to give the full ownership of Telecom Italia’s business interests to Spain’s Telefonica.
