The New India Assurance Company Limited announced the appointment of Mandakini Balodhi to its Board of Directors, with effect from April 18, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “we wish to inform you that Ministry of Finance vide their notification dated 04th April, 2022 has appointed Ms. Mandakini Balodhi as a Government Nominee Director on the Board of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd with immediate effect and until further orders, vice Ms. Vandita Kaul, Additional Secretary.”
Mandakini Balodhi is serving as Director- Insurance, Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services since December 2021. Her current responsibilities include handling all Policy, Legislation, Litigation and Subordinate Legislation matters of Insurance sector (Life, General and Health), administration of Insurance Act, 1938, IRDAI Act, 1999, LIC Act, 1956 and GIBNA, 1972, administrative matters of Public Sector Insurers (LIC, GIC, NIACL, NICL, OICL and UIICL), all related parliamentary and Right To Information matters, matters of foreign investment and international collaborations in insurance sector, program implementation and inter-ministerial coordination.
She holds a post graduate degree in English and is a Fellow of Insurance Institute of India.
Prior to joining the Ministry, she was with Oriental Insurance Company Limited for 25 years handling all aspects of applications transversing channels, products and segments of General Insurance designing customized turn-key solutions across sectors & industries. She has been recognized consistently for performance excellence and contribution to organizational success, the statement said.
