Union Bank of India announced it has appointed Laxman S. Uppar as Director on the company’s Board, effective March 21, 2022.
According to the exchange filing, “we wish to inform you that the Central Government vide notification no. F. No. 6/6/2021-BO.I dated March 21, 2022 has nominated Shri Laxman S. Uppar as the Part-time Non-Official Director on the Board of the Bank for a period of three years from the date of notification i.e. March 21, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
Uppar has done Bachelor’s in Engineering. He is a noted Educationist, Philanthropist and Founder of Karnataka Classic Education Private Ltd. He has also started Spardha Spoorti Publishers & Printers Pvt. Ltd. in 2012, which publishes books and magazines for various competitive examinations.
Currently, he is the Chairman of the Classic International Public School and also Classic Little Birds, Classic PU & Degree College, Dharwad, a statement said.
