Infosys CFO, and veteran of over 20 years V Balakrishnan has resigned as the company’s CFO (Source: ET). He had joined the company in 1991, and has been with the company in various roles over these years. He had been appointed as the CFO in 2006. As the CFO he has been responsible for Corporate Finance, International Taxation, Risk Management and Mergers & Acquisitions for the group.
Balakrishnan had been a key contributor during the company’s Indian IPO in 1993 as well as the company’s first overseas listing in 1999. He has been recognized as Best Performing CFO in IT & ITES by CNBC TV 18 for the year 2008, and 2009. He has also won the Best CFO (Information Technology, Media, Communication and Entertainment) award from the ICAI (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) for 2008.
Prior to joining Infosys, Balakrishnan was a Senior Accounts Executive with Amco Batteries Limited. Balakrishnan holds a B.Sc. degree from the University of Madras. He also holds ACA, ACS and AICWA degrees. Rajiv Bansal, the present VP of Finance, is supposed to take over as the next CFO from November 2012.
