Viacom18 has announced the appointment of Chanpreet Arora as business head – AVOD (Voot), and of Vineet Govil as chief technology officer at Viacom18 Digital Ventures.
In her new role, Chanpreet will drive the AVOD business – VOOT and will be responsible for leading AVOD led partnerships that are key to VOOT’s overall growth.
Earlier in 2018 as CEO, she led the successful launch of VICE Media in India. In 2019, she completed the prestigious Fellowship at the Reuters Institute for Study of Journalism at Oxford University.
In 2020, she co-founded Rezilient Digital Services. Rezilient is building a SaaS marketplace for Publishers to enable monetization across content, media, data and programmatic channels. Some of its clients include The New York Times, Parentune and Mckinsey & Company.
At Times Internet, she led the restructuring of the global revenue strategy, launched Time Internet’s B2B brand & developed new business verticals including the Programmatic monetisation.
At Ernst & Young – Media Sports & Entertainment Advisory Practice. She led some of the most challenging expansions & restructuring of companies in India including NDTV, Network 18, Times Group, UTV, Dainik Bhaskar, Zee. Advised Govt. Bodies like TRAI , FICCI, US India Business Council on Public Policy issues.
With a passion for academia, she is actively associated with institutes across Europe & India. She has taught at Reuters Oxford, Stockholm School of Economics Riga, MDI Gurgaon & MICA among other institutions.
In his new role, Govil will be responsible for strengthening the product’s tech play by offering a more seamless and immersive experience for consumers. Prior to joining Viacom18 Digital Ventures, he was heading Sling Media’s India Development Centre as vice president.
With over 26 years of experience in product and technology development across domains, Govil’s career spans across areas of embedded software, multimedia streaming (OTT), IoT and wireless telecom, cloud and more. He was also a part of Sasken Technologies and ISRO Ahmedabad.
