Vishweshwaran Ramakrishnan appointed Chief Digital Officer at Tamilnad Mercantile Bank

Former IDFC First Bank executive Vishweshwaran Ramakrishnan has joined Tamilnad Mercantile Bank as Chief Digital Officer, according to ETCIO report.

Headquartered in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank is a commercial private sector bank having more than 509 branches and 1131 ATMs throughout the country.

In this new role, Ramakrishnan will be overseeing the bank’s various upcoming and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

At IDFC First Bank, Ramakrishnan was Senior Product Owner for Payments functionalities in Digital and Customer journeys. He was associated with the bank for more than three years.

With over 25 years of total work experience, Ramakrishnan has 17 years of experience in Banking and Payments alone. He has worked with companies like NPCI, FSS, and ICICI Bank in the past.

Ramakrishnan has experience of working in various Digital Banking, Payments Channels and Retail Banking initiatives, and has expertise in agile product development, Product Delivery, Product Management & Innovations and Project Management.

Ramakrishnan is an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad and holds an MBA from Madurai Kamaraj University and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from St. John’s College.
