Bimaplan, an insurtech startup backed by Y-Combinator, announced it has appointed Yogesh Gupta as its Chief Business Officer.
Gupta has joined the firm from Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, where he was executive vice-president and chief financial inclusion officer.
Yogesh is a qualified Chartered Accountant and comes with 2 decades of experience in the BFSI industry. He has been a founder employee with Bajaj Allianz Life insurance where he was working as Executive Vice president & Chief of Financial Inclusion officer. He has played a pivotal role in developing the entire Third-Party Distribution & Bancassurance Sales & Alliances. For the first time in the Insurance Industry, Yogesh envisaged foray into the Rural / Under-served segment and created a low ticket size product which not only offered a judicious Insurance coverage in the Indian Rural pockets but also created a lot of awareness about securing the lives among the masses.
At Bimaplan, he will build upon his work over the last decade in the microinsurance segment and scale it with the help of technology to reach millions of underserved households in India. His product knowledge, operational expertise, and industry relationships will help Bimaplan strengthen its product line-up, and tap new consumers specially from tier-II and tier-III cities, providing them with a range of customised insurance products covering their specific needs.
Recently, Bimaplan strengthened its leadership team by hiring Chandan Mittal as chief technology officer and Gaurav Jindal as chief operating officer.
