On Day 1 of the placement process, IIT-Bombay saw participation of 135 companies including Optiver, Microsoft, Uber, Texas Instruments, Apple, Bain amongst others.
Optiver, a Dutch firm, extended the highest international offer of Rs 1.39 crore in the first slot of day one of placements.
In the second slot of the first day, Sony Japan extended international offer of Rs 1.14 crore per annum.
Last year, the highest offer was made by Microsoft of Rs 1.17 crore per annum.
Highest domestic salaries offered on the first day were by Qualcomm (Rs 46.41 lakh/annum), WorldQuant (Rs 39.70 lakh/annum), Morgan Stanley (Rs 37.25 lakh/annum) and Uber (Rs 35.38 lakhs/annum).
This year, IIT Bombay has so far seen 153 PPOs being accepted by students, which is higher than last year. According to an official statement released, the regular recruiters have shown faith in the institute and the institute is looking forward to more offers from the companies.
