Children’s food and nutrition startup LiL’Goodness gets investment worth Rs5 crore

LiL’Goodness, a Bengaluru-based children’s food and nutrition startup, announced that it has raised Rs 5 crore funding led by Japan’s Beyond Next Ventures and angels including Sajan Pillai from Season Two Ventures.

The company will utilise the current funds infusion to boost expansion. The company will expand its packaged foods range, distribution network and production capacity.

“We are already preparing ourselves for the new normal once this pandemic ends and are confident that our focus on immunity based nutrition, highest standards of food safety, hygiene will be rewarded by our consumers,” said Harsha Vardhan, co-founder and CEO.

“We are impressed with the differentiated business model that combines the range between fresh meals and packaged foods, enabled by technology, and with a deep focus on principles of good nutrition,” Tsuyoshi Ito, President, Beyond Next Ventures said in a statement.

The company is led by Vardhan, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, and nutritionist Pariksha Rao. It operates two brands – sCoolMeal and LiL’Goodness.

SCoolMeal is a fresh meal brand that has partnered with 55 educational institutions in the city serving around 1,800 orders per day, while the direct-to-consumer LiL’Goodness is a packaged food brand that sells crackers, porridges and yogurts through online and offline channels.

The startup is focused on providing a range of children’s foods based on good health to strengthen immunity, with a focus on quality, hygiene and food safety. The company has built a community of around 2000 moms on its social platforms.
